Funding the Federal Government
The current continuing resolution funds the Federal government until February 18, 2022. The House and Senate Appropriations Committees Chairs and Ranking Members continue their negotiations. They are literally stuck on Senator Richard Shelby’s [R-AL] insistence that national defense receive more funding that is in the latest National Defense Authorization Act. IMG physicians play a critical role in the delivery of health care by bringing talented individuals to the U.S. to make significant contributions in research, education, and patient care. AACE has been named one of seven subspecialty societies to participate in a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-funded grant project led and coordinated through the Council for Medical Specialty Societies to help increase COVID-19, influenza, and routine vaccinations in high-risk adults with chronic medical conditions.
