At the recent annual meeting of the AMA House of Delegates, the Endocrine Section Council, comprised of delegates from the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Endocrine Society, proposed a resolution advocating for the AMA to oppose all criminal and legal penalties against patients and their families seeking gender affirming care and physicians who care for those individuals. Former member of AACE Board of Directors and Board of Trustees Aaron I. Vinik, MD, PhD, FCP, MACP, FACE, passed away peacefully June 15, 2023, in his home in Norfolk, VA. Dr. Vinik served AACE in a variety of roles and capacities, including in development of several AACE Annual Meetings, Disease State Networks, and previous versions of our AACE Diabetes Guideline.
