Dear AACE Community,
Over the past several months, we have had meaningful opportunities to listen, engage, and collaborate with our community. In this update, I am pleased to share highlights from my recent attendance at the Ohio River Region Society of Endocrinology (ORRSE) 2025 Annual Meeting, along with a preview of our 2026–2029 Strategic Plan that will guide the future of AACE.
Ohio River Region Society of Endocrinology (ORRSE) 2025 Annual Meeting
I had the distinct privilege of attending the Ohio River Region Society of Endocrinology (ORRSE) 2025 Annual Meeting in French Lick, Indiana, in August, where I participated in a valuable listening session as part of AACE’s ongoing advocacy and outreach efforts. It was a pleasure to meet with ORRSE leadership, including President Edward Rico, MD, MBA, FACE, and Program Chair and President-Elect Vinni Makin, MD, as well as members of the board and many engaged attendees. Our discussions provided important feedback and creative ideas for advancing endocrine care, and the photo captures the spirit of collaboration at the event. This experience was a wonderful opportunity to re-establish connections and rebuild relationships within our local endocrinology community.

Preview: AACE 2026–2029 Strategic Plan
Over the past six months, your AACE Board of Directors has been hard at work shaping the future of our association. Through a thoughtful and collaborative process of research, surveys, and in-depth interviews with AACE members, Past Presidents, and key stakeholders, we gathered invaluable insights on the challenges and opportunities ahead. Guided by your feedback, the Board has identified and prioritized the key goals of our 2026–2029 Strategic Plan that will lead us forward.
I am pleased to share the AACE 2026–2029 Strategic Plan, which is built on three foundational goals:
- Be the Professional Home for Clinical Endocrinologists & the Endocrine Care Team
- Define, Advocate, & Influence Quality Endocrine Care for All
- Engage the Global Endocrine Community to Advance Knowledge & Patient Health
These goals will guide us in delivering high-quality clinical and practice-associated education, promoting the value of endocrinologists and the endocrine care team, and strengthening partnerships with societies and organizations domestically and internationally.
In the coming months, we will share more details about the specific initiatives and activities supporting these priorities.
Here is a preview of how we are already moving toward these goals:
Goal 1: Be the Professional Home for Clinical Endocrinologists & the Endocrine Care Team
- 1.1. Deliver high-quality clinical and practice-associated education
- 1.2. Support leadership and career development within AACE and professionally
- 1.3. Listen, understand, and respond to the global endocrine community’s needs
- 1.4. Support the expansion of the clinical endocrinology workforce
As your professional home, AACE is where clinical endocrinologists and the entire endocrine care team come together to learn, share, and advance their careers. We are dedicated to fostering excellence in endocrine care through education, collaboration, and a strong sense of community.
I am pleased to share that on September 2, AACE will launch a new membership model that expands opportunities for engagement and growth at every career stage. This model includes tailored pathways for students, residents, fellows, and early-career health care professionals, providing strong support as they enter and advance in endocrinology through access to valuable education programs, mentorship opportunities with experienced endocrine professionals, and a variety of networking sessions at our Annual Meeting. International members in lower-income countries and endocrine care team members will also benefit from new discounted rates, making AACE membership more attainable.
Engaged members will receive complimentary educational modules to help them stay at the forefront of clinical practice and the chance to volunteer on an AACE committee. We are excited about this new model and are looking forward to growing our community.
Save the date for our 2026 Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, NV, April 22–24. Our Annual Meeting will feature over 75 engaging sessions on the latest advancements and research findings in clinical endocrinology. Alongside these sessions, there will be ample opportunities to network with esteemed professionals at several events including our prestigious FACE/MACE Convocation, Awards Ceremony, and Presidents party. Registration for 2026 will open this fall.
I also encourage you to submit your abstract for the opportunity to showcase your work. Submissions will be reviewed by leading endocrinology experts and, if accepted, published as a supplement to AACE’s landmark journal, Endocrine Practice. The submission deadline is December 1, 2025. Learn more about abstract submission guidelines here.
As we invite you to share your expertise with the AACE community, we are also expanding our programs to deliver high-quality clinical and practice-associated education tailored for all members of the care team. One highlight is our on-demand certificate programs, which provides realistic practice activities, interactive case studies, and clinical scenarios to help you strengthen your skills across multiple areas of endocrine care.
Goal 2: Define, Advocate, & Influence Quality Endocrine Care for All
- 2.1. Disseminate pioneering endocrine research and knowledge
- 2.2. Develop and distribute clinical guidelines, consensus statements, and practice standards
- 2.3. Establish advocacy priorities, resources, and partnerships to benefit patients and the profession
- 2.4. Promote the value of endocrinologists and the endocrinology care team
We are developing new clinical guidance documents to improve care for patients with endocrine diseases and disorders.
This year, we have published:
- Clinical Practice Guideline on Pharmacologic Management of Adults With Dyslipidemia
- Consensus Statement on Management of Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 1 (MEN1)
We are also preparing to launch updates for two major algorithms:
- Consensus Statement: Algorithm for the Evaluation and Treatment of Adults with Obesity/Adiposity-Based Chronic Disease – 2025 Update
- Consensus Statement: Algorithm for Management of Adults with Dyslipidemia – 2025 Update
To help you apply these clinical guidance documents in your practice, we’ll be hosting a two-day virtual Clinical Guidance Forum on December 10 and 11. Attendees will have an opportunity to hear from and engage with key authors of AACE’s clinical guidance documents that have recently been published.
Advocacy will also continue to be a key focus for us as we lead the way in shaping policies that protect patient access, support early intervention, strengthen the practice of clinical endocrinology, and promote the value of endocrinologists and the endocrinology care team. This year, we have already begun advancing this goal by advocating for expanded Medicare coverage for obesity medications, safeguarding essential public health programs, and more, all with a focus on improving care for patients nationwide.
I am also excited to announce we have a new AACE Healthcare Advocacy Webinar Series, beginning September 17, 2025. This free four-part live webinar series will provide actionable skills for making an impact at the institutional, state, and national levels.

Goal 3: Engage the Global Endocrine Community to Advance Knowledge & Patient Health
- 3.1. Establish AACE as the trusted source for endocrinology patient education
- 3.2. Strengthen partnerships with societies and organizations domestically and internationally
- 3.3. Deliver value and innovation to the endocrine community
To advance knowledge and improve patient health worldwide, we are delivering educational programs in key regions, including the Middle East, India, Pakistan, and Mexico, while also exploring collaborative opportunities in Latin America. In 2026, we will build on this momentum by hosting another AACE Global Forum during our Annual Meeting, April 22–24 at Caesars Forum in Las Vegas, Nevada. This forum will bring our global endocrine community together to advance our collective efforts and improve patient outcomes. Strengthening partnerships with societies and organizations domestically and internationally remains a key priority in achieving this goal.
On behalf of the AACE Board of Directors, thank you for your commitment to our mission of elevating the practice of clinical endocrinology to improve global health. Together, we are advancing the future of AACE and building healthier communities worldwide.
Together, We Are AACE!
Sincerely,
Scott D. Isaacs, MD, FACP, FACE
