Dear AACE Community,
As we move into February, I’d like to share a brief update on what has been an exciting and productive start to the year. Last month, I had the privilege of attending the AACE Executive Committee Retreat in Atlanta, Georgia, alongside our dedicated AACE Officers and staff leadership team. During the retreat, we engaged in thoughtful discussions about expanding our educational offerings, strengthening advocacy initiatives to improve access to care, and advancing our disease state networks and resources to support our community. The collaborative energy and shared commitment to advancing endocrine patient care were truly inspiring. I am confident that the work we accomplished will drive AACE’s mission forward, and I look forward to sharing more updates as we evolve and further develop our strategic plan.
Last month I also attended the ASAE Symposium in Miami, Florida with our President-Elect, Dr. Dace Trance, and Treasurer, Dr. Leslie Eldeiry, to explore strategies for strengthening AACE’s leadership in the association community. It was a rewarding experience where we gained valuable insights that will help us effectively lead AACE.
I also had the opportunity to attend the PhRMA Special Issue Briefing program that provided an update on the congressional and administration priorities focused on healthcare. This program provided a good lens on the current legislative environment.

February Key Events
Looking ahead, February holds two significant events I will be attending that exemplify our commitment to advocacy and education.
Sanofi Patient Advocacy Council:
This event brings together executives from U.S. patient advocacy groups and professional societies, representing multiple therapeutic areas, to address key issues affecting patients’ access to innovative medicines and vaccines. Sanofi leaders will join us to explore actionable strategies to support and lead initiatives for patients. I am honored to participate and engage in discussions that have the potential to drive meaningful change for improving endocrine patient care.
Endocrine University Year 1 - February 20-22, 2025:
Endocrine University is a cornerstone of our educational initiatives, equipping the next generation of endocrinologists with the knowledge and tools needed to excel in their field. Since 2002, more than 5,000 endocrine fellows from over 200 programs have participated in our transformative program. I encourage all first-year fellows to join our virtual three-day educational program focused on the latest advancements in diabetes management, thyroid conditions, and groundbreaking technologies shaping the future of patient care. This program takes a case-based approach to the diagnosis and management of endocrine-related disorders and is specifically designed to help prepare fellows for entering clinical practice.
During this program, our fellows will also hear from their peers who are running for the 2025–2026 Fellow-in-Training (FIT) Board of Directors Representative position. The FIT representative plays a vital role in our community, serving as a voting member of the Board of Directors, contributing to discussions, and advocating for the best interests of our organization. Elections for the FIT representative will take place at Endocrine University on Friday, February 21, 2025. I look forward to welcoming our 2025–2026 FIT representative to the AACE team.
Thank you again for your ongoing commitment to AACE and the vital role you play in shaping the future of endocrinology. I look forward to sharing more updates and accomplishments with you next month.
Thank you,
Johnnie White, MBA, CAE, CMP Fellow
AACE Chief Executive Officer
