Jonathan D. Leffert, MD, FACP, ECNU, FACE

Dr. Leffert entered solo practice in 1991 and co-founded the North Texas Endocrine Care Center in 2007. Throughout his private practice, he participated in teaching activities at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas Hospital and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He enjoys practicing Clinical Endocrinology full-time, while serving as Managing Partner of North Texas Endocrine Center, a 15-employee practice. In 2005, he was appointed as an Advisor to the AACE Board of Directors, elected a Board member from 2007 to 2013, and served as an officer and Executive Committee member from 2013 to 2020. Dr. Leffert served as the 27th President of AACE in May 2017. During his tenure at AACE, he has chaired the Legislative and Regulatory, AACEPAC, Socioeconomics, Finance, CAP Steering, Nominating, Awards, and Executive Committees. Dr. Leffert has served as the Delegate to the AMA House of Delegates and led a coalition of organizations that successfully passed an AMA resolution declaring obesity a disease in 2013. He has served on several reference committees at the AMA House of Delegates, including chairing Reference Committee A (Medical Service) in July 2018. Dr. Leffert was a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Subspecialty Board of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism from 2016 through 2023.
