Dr. Peters is one of the world’s leading clinicians and researchers in diabetes, as well as an influential advocate and policy advisor for new diabetes treatment guidelines and increased access to care. She is dedicated to bringing innovative diabetes care to all walks of life, including underserved populations with lower literacy levels. Dr. Peters runs diabetes centers in Beverly Hills and underserved East Los Angeles. In addition to her clinical work, she has served as a principal investigator on multiple grants, written over 200 articles and four books, and delivered over 1,000 lectures locally, nationally, and internationally. Dr. Peters has been on numerous guideline-writing committees for the treatment of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Her primary interests involve translating research findings from lifestyle interventions into technology for people with diabetes across the socioeconomic spectrum.
