William B. Horton, MD, MSc, FACP

Dr. Horton is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He is also the Associate Program Director of the University of Virginia’s Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Fellowship Training Program. His clinical interests include Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, Diabetes Technology, Osteoporosis, Hyperparathyroidism, Hypothyroidism, and Hyperthyroidism. Numerous grants support his research, which focuses broadly on the cardiovascular complications of Type 1 Diabetes. Specifically, his current projects aim to identify adjunct therapies for closed-loop automated insulin delivery, which will optimize glycemic control and reduce cardiovascular risk.
