CEO June 2026 Highlights: Advancing Multidisciplinary Care

Dear AACE Community,

As we continue through 2026, AACE remains focused on creating meaningful opportunities for education, collaboration, and professional growth across our global endocrine community. I’d like to reflect on the momentum we built in May and share upcoming engagements taking place throughout June.

May Highlight

AACE Strategic Roundtable on Multidisciplinary Approaches for the Management of MASLD and MASH, Atlanta, GA (May 7–8): AACE recently hosted its inaugural Strategic Roundtable on Multidisciplinary Approaches for the Management of Metabolic-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD) and Metabolic-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH) in Atlanta, Georgia. I would like to personally thank our patient advocacy organizations, industry partners, speakers, and our exceptional Steering Committee, led by Chair and AACE Immediate Past President Scott D. Isaacs, MD, FACE, FACP, for their leadership in bringing this important initiative to life.

Leaders from endocrinology, primary care, hepatology, gastroenterology, patient advocacy, industry, and health policy came together to address key challenges in the early screening, diagnosis, and management of MASLD/MASH and to develop actionable recommendations that will help shape the future of care.

Together, we identified several key priorities, including:

  • MASLD/MASH detection must be built into routine care
  • Non-invasive testing needs greater standardization
  • Education must be multidisciplinary
  • Patient messaging must reduce stigma
  • Equity must be measurable

Most importantly, the roundtable reinforced the need to move from multidisciplinary discussion to multidisciplinary infrastructure. This includes shared guidelines, consensus statements, education, advocacy, research priorities, and local care models that make MASLD and MASH management more practical, equitable, and scalable. AACE was proud to lead this important multidisciplinary dialogue and unite stakeholders around shared goals to advance patient care. Outcomes from the meeting will be included in a peer-reviewed proceedings manuscript planned for submission to Endocrine Practice, AACE’s journal.

June Engagements

  • American Diabetes Association (ADA) Scientific Sessions, New Orleans, Louisiana (June 4–6): This month, I will attend the ADA Scientific Sessions alongside members of the AACE community to engage in discussions surrounding the latest scientific advances, clinical research, and innovations in diabetes care and metabolic health. I look forward to the opportunity to meet with leadership at the ADA and strengthen our collective efforts to advance endocrine care, support advocacy initiatives, and improve patient outcomes.
  • American Medical Association (AMA) Annual Meeting and House of Delegates, Chicago, Illinois (June 7–10): Next, I will attend the AMA Annual Meeting and House of Delegates alongside AACE AMA Delegate Dr. Jonathan Leffert and Alternate Delegate Dr. Pavan Chava. Together, we will help shape national policy priorities and reinforce the critical role endocrinologists play in addressing complex metabolic and endocrine diseases while advocating for the needs of patients and the endocrine care team.
  • ENDO 2026, Chicago, Illinois (June 13–16): Later this month, I will attend ENDO 2026, where I will connect with clinicians and industry partners. If you’re attending, be sure to stop by our AACE Booth #28 to explore our membership benefits, educational opportunities, certificate programs, patient journeys, and other resources that support your practice and improve patient care.
  • Best of AACE India, Hyderabad, India (June 27–28): At the end of the month, AACE members Dr. Ricardo Correa, Dr. Antonio Bianco, Dr. Karel Pacak, Dr. Michael Irwig, and I will join leading experts from across India to share key sessions and updates from the AACE Annual Meeting. This program will include expert commentary from Indian faculty and interactive Q&A discussions. It also qualifies as a major meeting requirement for those planning to apply for the prestigious Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (FACE®) designation. I look forward to connecting with our global endocrine community in Hyderabad for two days of meaningful learning, collaboration, and a shared commitment to advancing endocrine health.

  • From multidisciplinary collaboration to global education and advocacy, AACE continues to build meaningful connections that advance endocrine care and support better patient outcomes. I look forward to the continued progress we will make together throughout 2026.
