CEO August 2026 Highlights

Dear AACE Community,

As we begin August, I am pleased to reflect on a productive month and look forward to several meaningful engagements. From gathering with our team for staff training, to advancing plans for our 2027 AACE Annual Meeting and expanding the global reach of our clinical guidance documents, our work continues to bring our mission to life, elevating the practice of clinical endocrinology to improve global health.

July Highlights

  • AACE All Staff Retreat, Jacksonville, Florida (July 8–9):When talented people come together around a shared purpose, great things happen. In July, our staff gathered in person for the AACE All Staff Retreat. As a fully virtual organization, this time together is especially valuable. It gave us an opportunity to strengthen collaboration among our cross-functional teams, reflect on our progress, and align on the priorities that will guide AACE through the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.
Throughout the retreat, we focused on professional development, our 2026-2029 Strategic Plan, and new programs designed to support endocrinologists and the entire endocrine care team. I left Jacksonville energized by our conversations and inspired by our shared commitment to advancing resources and educational opportunities for the AACE community.
  • AACE 2027 Annual Meeting Planning, San Diego, California (July 13–14): Planning is officially underway for our AACE 2027 Annual Meeting, taking place May 14–16 at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. Members of the AACE team and I recently visited San Diego to continue preparations for our premier educational conference.
This year, more than 2,700 attendees convened in Las Vegas to connect, learn, and earn CME, CE, and MOC through state-of-the-art lectures, advanced learning experiences, engaging sessions, expert panel discussions, abstract presentations, and more. Our 2027 program is already shaping up to be another exceptional experience, and San Diego will provide an outstanding setting for education, collaboration, and connection. Registration opens this fall, and I look forward to welcoming our community to sunny San Diego next May.
  • FIDOL 2026 International Forum on Diabetes, Obesity, and Lipids, Mexico City, Mexico (Best of AACE LATAM) (July 23–25): It was a pleasure to partner with the Sociedad Mexicana de Nutrición y Endocrinología A.C. for FIDOL 2026 in Mexico City and share the key sessions presented at our Annual Meeting with clinicians in Mexico. I would like to thank our AACE members, Dr. Timothy Garvey, Dr. Shailendra Patel, and Dr. Priyathama Vellanki, for sharing their expertise and presenting AACE’s clinical guidance on obesity, dyslipidemia, and type 2 diabetes. I’d also like to extend my appreciation to the Sociedad Mexicana de Nutrición y Endocrinología A.C. for a partnership that reflects our shared commitment to advancing endocrine education, improving patient care, and strengthening the global endocrine community.

August Engagements

  • ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition, Indianapolis, Indiana (August 15–18): As a board member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), I will be attending the ASAE Annual Meeting and Exposition, which brings together association professionals and industry partners to exchange ideas, explore innovative solutions, and share strategies for advancing their organizations.

July demonstrated what is possible when dedicated people unite around a shared purpose. I am grateful for the expertise and collaboration of our members, volunteers, partners, and staff.

Together, We Are AACE!

Thank you,
