Dear AACE Community,
Happy New Year! I am deeply honored to serve as President of AACE for the 2025 association year. As your President, I am committed to advancing clinical knowledge, leading innovative educational initiatives, and strengthening connections.
As a global community of over 5,700 endocrine-focused clinical members and more than 28,000 health care professionals, we remain united by a shared mission: to elevate the practice of clinical endocrinology to improve global health. Together, we have an incredible opportunity this year to build on our achievements, drive innovation, and address emerging challenges in endocrine care. I look forward to working alongside each of you to make 2025 a year of progress.
Before we look ahead, I want to extend my gratitude to our Immediate Past President, Susan L. Samson, MD, PhD, FRCPC, FACE, for her exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to AACE’s mission. Dr. Samson’s vision and accomplishments have positioned AACE for continued success, leaving a lasting legacy to guide us forward.
Building on the strong foundation laid by Dr. Samson, my focus this year in collaboration with our exceptional Board of Directors, AACE Committees, Task Forces, Workgroups, Disease State Network volunteers, and exemplary staff, is to amplify AACE’s impact by:
- Developing and launching new clinical guidance documents on Dyslipidemia, MEN1, Type 2 Diabetes, and Obesity.
- Strengthening our advocacy efforts to advance policies for endocrine issues such as improved access to endocrine care.
- Expanding both our local and global reach to enhance collaboration and share best practices.
- Creating new resources and certificate programs to empower all members of the endocrine care team to advance their expertise.
- Fostering a deeper sense of community among our members to support professional growth and collaboration.
As we embark on a new chapter in AACE's history, I want to address a decision from our past and our vision for the future. In 2018, the AACE Board of Directors made the difficult choice to end our Chapters Program. Today, we acknowledge that this decision may have created unintended gaps in our community. With new leadership and a strategic planning process on the horizon, we are committed to rebuilding bridges and fostering renewed collaborations with our former chapters. Our priority is to engage in open discussions, find common ground, and explore mutually beneficial partnerships that will strengthen our endocrinology community. We invite you to join us in these endeavors as we work together to advance our profession and improve patient care. Your insights and participation are invaluable as we shape the future of AACE and endocrinology as a whole. With your support, I am confident we can achieve these ambitious goals and further solidify AACE’s role as a global leader in clinical endocrinology.
To support these initiatives, I encourage you to take part in the incredible programs we have planned for the year. Here are a few notable events I would like to highlight:
- Endocrine University for Year 1 Fellows: Held virtually from February 20–22, 2024, this scientifically rigorous, clinically focused 3-day program provides first-year fellows with an invaluable opportunity to enhance their endocrine curriculum. Year 1 focuses on essential topics in diabetes, thyroid disorders, and the latest technological advancements. I strongly encourage all first-year fellows to participate in this comprehensive learning experience.
- AACE Annual Meeting: We are thrilled to announce AACE 2025 will take place at the Hilton Orlando in Orlando, Florida, from May 15-17, 2025. This year's theme, Endocrine Innovation & Obesity Breakthroughs, underscores our dedication to addressing modern day challenges in endocrinology.
Highlights of our program include: - Keynote speaker Daniel Drucker, MD, a world-renowned endocrinologist, visionary scientist, and pioneer in GLP-1-based therapies
- Over 75 sessions covering cutting-edge topics in endocrinology
- Interactive workshops on diabetes technology and thyroid ultrasound
- A symposium on Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD)
- A new professional development series
- Our prestigious FACE/MACE Convocation and Awards Ceremony
- AACE MENA Conference: From November 21-23, 2025, we are excited to return to Dubai, UAE, for our AACE MENA (Middle East & North Africa) Conference. Last year’s event welcomed over 1,400 attendees showcasing our global community’s dedication to advancing endocrine care. This year’s conference promises to be even more inspiring.
As a special treat, I personally invite all registered attendees to join me for an unforgettable evening at the President's Party - Electric Palm celebration! Experience a night of energy and vibrant Florida vibes as we celebrate AACE 2025 together. Don't miss this opportunity to engage with leading experts, discuss groundbreaking research, and network with colleagues from around the world. We look forward to seeing you in Orlando for what promises to be an exceptional educational and networking experience.
Thank you for your dedication to AACE and your commitment to advancing patient care. I look forward to engaging with you at events this year as we work together to elevate clinical endocrinology to improve global health.
Together, we are AACE.
Sincerely,
Scott D. Isaacs, MD, FACP, FACE
