Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the clinical features and metabolic manifestations of Cushing's syndrome (CS), including identifying signs of hypercortisolism in patients with treatment-resistant type 2 diabetes, mild autonomous cortisol excess, and other overlapping metabolic conditions, with attention to high-risk metabolic phenotypes in the absence of classic Cushingoid features.
- Apply evidence-based screening and diagnostic strategies for suspected CS by interpreting clinical clues, selecting appropriate biochemical tests, and incorporating CS into the differential diagnosis of complex metabolic presentations.
- Develop individualized management approaches for patients with CS by applying case-based referral strategies, patient education, pharmacologic and post-surgical treatment planning, chronotherapy considerations, and long-term monitoring to reduce metabolic and cardiovascular complications.
The primary target audience for this program is endocrinologists and the endocrine care team, including nurses, nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), and diabetologists.
