Dear AACE Community,

It is with great enthusiasm and humility that I assume the role of President of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE) for the 2024 association year. As we embark on this exciting new year together, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our global community of over 28,000 endocrine-focused clinical members and stakeholders from multiple professional backgrounds. Your unwavering commitment to your patients, innovation in clinical practice, and collaboration exemplify the spirit of AACE. Together we are fulfilling our mission to elevate the practice of clinical endocrinology to improve global health.

Before I share some exciting new changes and highlights for 2024, I’d like to give a sincere thank you to our Immediate Past President, Dr. Sethu Reddy, for his dedication and commitment to advancing our mission. His exceptional leadership serves as an inspiration, and I am honored to follow in his footsteps. He has been an incredible example for me during his time as President. Under his guidance, AACE has thrived in developing a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, providing new educational opportunities and resources to equip endocrine care team members with the skills needed to care for common endocrine disorders.

I also want to express my appreciation to the Board of Directors, Board of Trustees, Executive Committee, Executive Leadership Team, and our remarkable AACE staff for their hard work and support. The success of AACE is a testament to their collaborative efforts and strategic vision.

A special acknowledgment goes out to all of our 2024 committee volunteers. Your dedication is the backbone of our organization and community, and I am grateful for your time, expertise, and contributions so we can deliver on our AACE mission in 2024.

As we look forward to the year ahead, there are several exciting updates on the horizon. First, as announced in December, we are preparing for the arrival of our new CEO Johnnie White, MBA, CAE, CMP, on March 1, 2024. Johnnie's exceptional leadership will be instrumental in helping us continue to drive our strategic plan forward as we further develop endocrine care teams, patient awareness, and worldwide engagement. He will be working closely with our Interim CEO, Ms. Suzanne Berry, the AACE BOD, and staff to ensure a smooth transition. We are excited for Johnnie to join and lead the AACE team. I will be providing more updates as the transition evolves.

We also have some engaging conferences coming up that you don’t want to miss.

Endocrine University for year one fellows will be held February 22-24. This virtual learning event will feature case discussions and interactive sessions on diabetes skills and technology training, thyroid, and new technology updates. In the Fall, year two will cover pituitary and adrenal disorders, reproductive, bone, lipids and cardiovascular health, nutrition, and obesity.

Save the date for our 2024 Annual Meeting, taking place May 9-11 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Our Annual Meeting will feature over 75 engaging sessions on the latest advancements and research findings in clinical endocrinology. Alongside these sessions, there will be ample opportunities to network with esteemed professionals at our treasured annual AACE events including our prestigious FACE/MACE Convocation, Awards Ceremony, and Presidents party.

I am also thrilled to announce we will have two international conferences, expanding our global reach and impact. The inaugural AACE Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Cardiometabolic Conference is scheduled for April 19-20 at the Rosewood Hotel in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Subsequently, the AACE MENA conference will take place from November 22-24 in Dubai, UAE.

I look forward to meeting you at one of our upcoming events this year and welcome you to benefit from AACE’s membership and continuous learning initiatives as you connect with a global community of like-minded experts, colleagues, and partners, all committed to improving the health and lives of those who live with endocrine and metabolic disorders.

I am genuinely excited about the possibilities this year holds for us, and I look forward to engaging with the AACE Community regularly. If you would like to reach out and connect, my email is [email protected]. I would love to hear from you.

Together, let's make 2024 a year of innovation, growth, and shared success.

Together we are AACE!

Thank you,
