Call for 3 authors and 2 methodology fellows to participate:

Update of the AACE Algorithm for Comprehensive Management of Adults with Type 2 Diabetes

Submissions open: April 23 - May 21, 2024

AACE is seeking three authors and two methodology fellows to update the 2023 algorithm on comprehensive management of type 2 diabetes. This consensus statement will be an official AACE clinical guidance document which reflects the mission and positions of AACE and provides evidence-informed clinical guidance on a timely topic with a rapidly evolving evidence base to facilitate dissemination of up-to-date best practice. The algorithm will not require a systematic appraisal of evidence but will follow a consistent yet less rigorous and formal development process than AACE clinical practice guidelines. This consensus statement will provide (1) visual guidance in concise graphic algorithms to assist with clinical decision-making of health care professionals in the management of adults with type 2 diabetes to improve patient care and (2) a brief narrative to support the visual guidance found in each algorithm.

Applicants should be current AACE members in good standing, free of conflicts of interest, active in practice, and able to commit to at least 1 year of development.

Approved task force members must participate in video conferences, submit assignments via email, fulfill ICMJE criteria for authorship, and adhere to the AACE Conflict of Interest Policy.

Authors will provide input on development of graphic algorithms, write evidence-based narrative summaries to support visual guidance for assigned sections, and participate in discussions with the task force to achieve consensus on content.

The methodology fellows will receive authorship for assistance with identification and selection of evidence and development of the algorithm as assigned by the chairs.
