Thyroid Hands-On Skills Training

  • Review the components of a comprehensive neck ultrasound through didactic and practical sessions
  • Discuss the indications and limitations of neck ultrasound in the management of patients with thyroid nodules, cancer, and hyperparathyroidism
  • Interpret and communicate ultrasound findings

NEW! Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Interactive Evening Workshop + Reception

Friday, May 5 | 5:30 – 6:30 PM

Today’s environment calls all of us, and our institutions and practices, to take a critical look at how to better connect with our patients and colleagues on the importance of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging as a determinant of health. Attendees will work in small groups to answer, “How can we better address disparities and health equity through DE&I practices?” This session will be moderated by a DEI&B expert, who will lead the group through a series of thought-provoking questions. Participants will walk away better equipped to affect change within their professional environment by sharing experiences, knowledge and insights learned. All attendees are welcome to participate in this evening workshop. Space is limited, so reserve your spot. We look forward to sharing best practices and centering our efforts to facilitate health and well-being across the AACE community. Plenty of food and drinks will be provided to keep the thoughts flowing!

The New Diabetes Algorithm Release

The Annual Meeting will deliver a 2023 update of the AACE Comprehensive Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) Management Algorithm. This update will provide a concise roadmap for incorporation of new therapies and management approaches that align with the 2022 update of the AACE evidence-based clinical practice guideline "Developing a Diabetes Mellitus Comprehensive Care Plan."

Don’t miss the first look at our new algorithm presented exclusively at the 2023 AACE Annual Meeting. This session will also include discussions on American Association of Clinical Endocrinology Consensus Statement and Diabetes Algorithm.

Diabetes Hands-On Skills Training

Saturday, May 6 | 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Through this education, learners will improve their abilities to:

  • Discuss CGM and the role it plays in managing the patient with diabetes.
  • Identify patients for whom CGM use is appropriate.
  • Interpret CGM results to provide optimal treatment for a patient.
  • Apply communication strategies with patients and caregivers in discussing the benefits of an insulin pump and other diabetes technologies to determine patient readiness. 
  • Examine new technologies to recommend the best treatment for each patient.

FACE & MACE Convocation

An AACE time honored tradition for the past 30 years recognizing those who have met the criteria for being awarded Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (FACE), and those who are being awarded Master American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (MACE). Celebrate with us as we watch the FACE inductees walk the stage and be recognized for their professional achievements in the field of Endocrinology.
