Paul Jellinger, MD, MACE, MACE
Paul Jellinger, MD, MACE, is Professor of Clinical Medicine on the Voluntary Faculty at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and practices clinical endocrinology at The Center for Diabetes & Endocrine Care in Hollywood, Florida. He is a founding member and a past president of AACE and the American College of Endocrinology and a Master of the American College of Endocrinology. He has been very active in the production of AACE Diabetes and Lipid Guidelines since their origin co-chairing the first AACE Diabetes Algorithm. He was Chair of the Writing Committee for the comprehensive 2017 "AACE/ACE Lipid Clinical Practice Guidelines for Management of Dyslipidemia and Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease" and is co-chair of the 2020 "AACE Algorithm for the Management of Dyslipdemia." He has participated as a Task Force member in numerous AACE Consensus Conferences and Position Statements and has more than 40 publications.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, learners will be able to:
- Identify the key elements for evaluating and treating pateints with dylipidemia including lifestyle modification in a clinically useful format.
- To apply both updated clinical trial data and the AACE treatment goals to the treatmen of dyslipdemia.
- To review the properties of all classes of FDA approved lipid lowering pharmaceuticals.
MAINTENANCE OF CERTIFICATION
Successful completion of this CME activity enables the participant to earn up to 1 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC points.
