Managing and Diagnosing Hypothyroidism - Part 1

Thyroid disease may present with non-specific, minimal signs. The use of thyroid function tests (TFTs) is vital in guiding clinicians towards a diagnosis. Hypothyroidism is traditionally defined as deficient thyroidal production of the thyroid hormone.

This slide library discusses primary, secondary and peripheral causes of hypothyroidism. Treatments of primary hypothyroidism are covered including conditions that require dose adjustments. Subclinical hypothyroidism and pregnancy are also discussed. This is the first slide deck in a 3-part series covering most aspects of managing and treating hypo/hyperthyroidism and interpreting thyroid function tests.
